Azurite and Malchite

Mineral # 979

Another view at a slightly different angle and a different light source;  ignore the white coloration on
some azurite crystals, it is just a light reflection off the crystals; the great thing about this specimen
is that it has a natural base which displays the specimen at the perfect angle

Cuprian Austinite

Mineral # 970

Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico

10 x 6.5 x 3 cm

 $ 215

Fine blue-green Austinite on a Limonite matrix from the Ojuela Mine.

This specimen was found in Tucson at the Gem and Mineral Show in 2017.

Cuprian Austinite

Mineral # 970

I am very impressed with this specimen by the contrasting colors of the Austinite with the Limonite.
The Limonite color is more red and less brown than usual.

Click on the specimen to enlarge it and check out the limonite color and the blue-green crystals of Austinite.

Cuprian Austinite

Mineral # 970

If you look closely (in this view on the left upper and lower corners) some of the Austinite is not as blue-green in color.
This is more the regular olivine color of Austinite which I assume means it has more copper in its composition (hence the term cuprian).
